mp4 cut : gray screen at the beginning
Did you figure this out? I think I'm having the same issue. Every mp4 I try to cut, I get a gray screen at the beginning, which changes to this image, and then finally to the video. Thinking it was some sort of watermark, I purchased the software, only to have the problem still occur. I tried on another computer as well, and get the same result there.

We already got a clue about this and are trying to find the final reason.
Please help us to show and identify the problem.
1.What is the OS you are using? Is it Xp, Vista or Win7?
2.What is your video player to show the problem? and its version number?
Could you please upload a video sample to our ftp server for a test? Please be noted, here the original source file is much more helpful than the resulting file cut by Smart Cutter.
It would be better if the sample file size is less than 50 MB.

before uploading sample, please create sub-directory with your name under the root, then upload sample to this sub-directory.
FULL priviliged --- mkdir, read, write, remove
Will be helpful to limit the sample file size under 50MB.

I will do so tonight - can't upload files from work.
In the meantime, I'm using Windows 7, 64bit. I see the problem playing back the generated mp4 files using VLC, Media Player Classic Home Cinema, and Windows Media Player.
Also, if it helps, the MP4 files were created using Handbrake with the default 'iPad' preset and 'Decomb' turned on.
