Smart Cutter losing MTS Metadata

I recently purchased SmartCutter and I've started using it to trim down a huge collection of MTS video footage that I have accumulated.
However, I notice that after trimming a file in SmartCutter, a lot of the original Metadata is missing instead of being retained in the output file.
I am checking the Metadata using ExifTool, and in the original MTS file there are 33 lines of Metadata, however in the output MTS file (after trimming) there are only 20 lines of Metadata.
Missing fields include:
Shutter Speed
Aperture
Make
Camera Model Name
F Number
Exposure Time
Image Stabilization
Focus
White Balance
Exposure Program
Gain
Aperture Setting
Date/Time Original
These settings are important to me (particularly the Date/Time Original, which is absolutely vital) but they are all being lost after editing.
I'm glad that I noticed this before I got too far into editing my collection, because I am discarding the originals to save space, and so I would have lost all of this information permanently.
Is there a SmartCutter setting that I need to adjust in order for it to retain all Metadata? If not, could you please ensure that existing Metadata is not removed from the edited output file.
Thanks
