When opening the options, there's a checkbox for "stream fix."
What exactly does this option do?

Dear cincyreds:
Below is quoted from our newsletter(Feb 2010), which was sent to your mail box about two weeks ago. May be you did not check your mail box recently.

----------------------------------
KNOWLEDGE BASICS

Stream Fix

Unlike the MPEG2 video streams, the H.264/AVCHD video takes some special elements into its stream structure for playback control. If some video cutter simply chops the H.264/AVCHD video stream apart, then feeds the cutted movie into some post-processing pipelines, such as transport stream re-multiplexing, Blue Ray disk authorizing; then, there may(even must) arise the problems of green glitch, mozaic, or audio/video in-sync.

The Smart Cutter has inner stream-fix function to solve such kind of problems. It was done automatically during the process of video transcoding. The current stream-fix only applies to the cut points, but we will build a stand-alone stream-fix option for the whole H.264/AVCHD video stream in our future version.
------------------
We are planning to release a new version of stream-fix next week, it will be a whole-stream version.

Please feel free to send us your further question and advice.
Thank you.

Best Regards,
FameRing Support Team

Any update on the update? You mentioned it was coming this week - the week is almost over ;).

Your software is unusable for me unless such functionality is implemented, as the playback of every single video I tried keeps hanging after the first few seconds (I'm using m2ts created by tsMuxeR using x264 MKV input).

Dear Krasskat:
Thanks for your concern.

The new source code is almost done. We are dealing with several bugs left. This may take us a few more days.

Please feel free to send us your further question and advice.
Thank you.

Hi, I'm new! Sorry for my terrible english.
I need 'stream fix' also for my recorded DVB-C HDTV Videos (H.264). On error free streams smart.cutter works fine and really fast! But, if the stream has errors, the normal case, smart.cutter 1.2.4a trial version crashes totally at the near of the first error.
If this function works fine, I'd like to buy smart.cutter. Hopefully soon, my harddisks are very full!
Best Regards!
Bernd

I've had similar problems which I've overcome in the interium as follows:

- Edit in smart cutter and save as separate files (ie don't link)
- Use TSRemuxer to mux each segment
- Use TSMuxerGUI to join segments

Unless your transcoding to another format then you should be done.

If you are transcoding then its worth noting the current version of smart cutter corrects the audio track around the cut points. Hopefully in most cases the file will be in a reasonable shape to transcode or the sync isn't too bad between cuts to bother editing the audio.

Hopefully the total file fix mods are not too far away.
