Hi there, it's been a while since I've been on the forum. SmartCutter has been working really well for me with .ts files but just recently I've started using it on mp4 files and am having problems.

See the file crash_clip.mp4 which I have uploaded to the 'wavelet' sub-directory on your ftp server. If I load this file into SmartCutter, select the 1st frame as a new start point, scroll to some point in the middle of the clip, make a new end point and then hit the red button to extract the selected frames, the program crashes.

FYI, the mp4 clip was created with a recent build of the ffmpeg tool using the following command:
ffmpeg -y -i <input video in avi container> -s 1280x736 -crf 23 -maxrate 3500k -bufsize 14000k -vcodec libx264 -level 41 \
-slices 4 -flags +loop+ildct+ilme -g 25 -bf 3 -refs 6 -b_strategy 1 -coder ac -qmin 10 -qmax 51 -sc_threshold 40 \
-cmp +chroma -me_range 16 -me_method umh -subq 7 -i_qfactor 0.71 -qcomp 0.6 -qdiff 4 -direct-pred auto -8x8dct 1 \
-weightb 1 -b-pyramid strict -mixed-refs 1 -trellis 1 -partitions +parti8x8+parti4x4+partp8x8+partp4x4+partb8x8 \
-threads 8 -x264opts bluray_compat=1 crash_clip.mp4
