Smart Cutter very slow with my DVB-T recordings

Post by Manlio »

Hi all,

I was looking for a software application that could cut and join x264 Transport Stream files recorded by my PVR (I can give details of it if needed).
Smart Cutter seems to be the software I was looking for, so I downloaded the trial version just to test it.
Unfortunately it seems to be very very slow (almost useless), especially when pressing the "previous frame" and "next frame" buttons (almost twenty seconds before I can push the button again).
My PC is a QuadCore with Windows XP Professional and more than 3GB of RAM.

I have prepared a ~60MB sample. Can I upload it on your FTP server?

Here are the MediaInfo details of my sample file (sorry for them being in Italian):

Dear Manlio:
Thanks for your message.

Could you please send us a video sample for a test?

It would be better if the sample file size is less than 100 MB.

If you can not find small sample, use this simple tool to split your movie file into small pieces, and upload any one of them.
http://www.softpedia.com/get/PORTABLE-S ... rger.shtml
-------------------------------------
before uploading sample, please create sub-directory with your name under the root, then upload sample to this sub-directory.

FULL priviliged --- mkdir, read, write, remove
Will be helpful to limit the sample file size under 100MB.
Thank you.

Hi again,

I have just tried the same sample on another computer and it works flawlessly. So there must be something on my computer that slows down your software. I'm trying to investigate, so I can give you tips about possible incompatibilities with other software.

Thanks again.
