v1.3.2 file save as will not work

HI, I tried to convert .vob files to a single .ts file.
opened first .vob
selected new start stop points
clicked add to list button
repeated above for the next four .vob files (total of five)
clicked the link button
clicked the record list button
the save as window came up showing the original folder contents of the .vob files
I can enter a file name with or without a suffix (.ts, etc)
BUT the save as type box is while/blank, if you click on it , it turns blue and you can not enter anything in it
if you click on the down arrow at the end of the save as type box the box turns blue with nothing in it.

If you enter only a file name of test you get a test.12.mpg file
if you enter a qualified file name of test.ts you get test.ts.12.ts file

Note that both of the above files have exactly the same length. Windows media player 12 will play them just fine, but CyberLink Power DVD 10 Mark II see only the first chapter/vob and then stops playing as if there is no more information in the file.

I hope this helps.
Mark

Dear Mark:
Thanks for your posting.
Windows media player 12 will play them just fine, but CyberLink Power DVD 10 Mark II see only the first chapter
Could you please send us a video sample for a test?
It would be better if the sample file size is less than 100 MB.

If you can not find small sample, use this simple tool to split your movie file
http://www.softpedia.com/get/PORTABLE-S ... rger.shtml
-------------------------------------
before uploading sample, please create sub-directory with your name under the root, then upload sample to this sub-directory.

FULL priviliged --- mkdir, read, write, remove
Will be helpful to limit the sample file size under 100MB.
Thank you.

How do I make a .VOB smaller without it being reincoded.
The first four files are .99gb and the fifth is 349mb log
I am trying to upload the fifth file to the FTP site but it keep bumping me off.
I can put the first .vob file (or all of them for that matter on rapidshare if that will help?

Dear mg6226:
Now the ftp is working correctly, and we can see your uploading is going on.
We will examine the sample as soon as we get it.

Ok, but I sent you the last VOB in the link list because it was the smallest.
The problem seems to be that when the first vob is linked to the second vob then powerdvd only sees the first vob and never sees the remaining ones , even though WMP works fine.
but the problem with no save file types is consistant.

We think we have solved this.

Please try the new version 1.3.5

and tell us the result.

Looking forward to your further message.
Thank you very much.

using smartcutter portable v1.3.5
1) linked 5 vobs OK
2) if you DO NOT supply a file extension you get .mpg
3) if you supply a .ts file extension you get a .ts
4) the .mpg and .ts files have slightly different sizes (I believe this is an old bug and both files are actually TS?)
5. Playing either file in WMP12 works BUT if you try to fast forward or use the slider to fast forward it acts like it must go back to beginning of the file to find the new "play from here" location, if you wait it eventually starts playing agian but stutters and seems to freeze until it gets there.
6)PowerDVD10 will play the file (either) but bad idea to fast foward , it just goes nuts thinking about it and never comes back to you.
7) the play lenght of the file as displayed by windows 7 pro is WRONG, I think the time codes are not udated correctly when the vobs are linked and this is what is driving both players nuts?
