Hello,

On my computer, Smart Cutter (both 1.3.1 and 1.3.0) crash immediately after pushing the red circle button whatever the video. It is strange because Smart Cutter was working well few days before.

Here is what Vista says about this problem:

Signature du problème
Nom d’événement du problème : APPCRASH
Nom de l’application: smart.exe
Version de l’application: 0.0.0.0
Horodatage de l'application: 4cd3d673
Nom du module par défaut: nvoglv32.dll
Version du module par défaut: 8.17.12.6089
Horodateur du module par défaut: 4caebc36
Code de l’exception: c0000005
Décalage de l’exception: 00673a1e
Version du système: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.3
Identificateur de paramètres régionaux: 1036
Information supplémentaire n° 1: fd00
Information supplémentaire n° 2: ea6f5fe8924aaa756324d57f87834160
Information supplémentaire n° 3: fd00
Information supplémentaire n° 4: ea6f5fe8924aaa756324d57f87834160

So problem comes from module nvoglv32.dll
Google says that nvoglv32.dll belongs to NVIDIA (NVIDIA Compatible OpenGL ICD)
Indeed, i updated my graphic drivers recently. I moved from 258.96 to 260.99

So i gone back to 258.96 and smart cutter worked again.

Conclusion:
With 258.96_notebook_winvista_win7_32bit_international_whql NVIDIA drivers, smart cutter works
With 260.99_notebook_winvista_win7_32bit_international_whql NVIDIA drivers, smart cutter doesnt works

Yes I've had similar problems with the NVidia driver 260.99 for my Geforce 465GTX video card

As soon as you try to save the edit the Smartcutter falls over

I've dropped back to Version 257.21 which works faultlessly

Its the Preview that crashes SmartCutter on that Driver.

1.3.0 and 1.3.1 crashed on my computer while I had 260.99_desktop_win7_winvista_64bit_international_whql.exe installed.
the problem got solved until i swithched back to 196.21_desktop_win7_winvista_64bit_international_whql.exe

BTW, I'm using win7 64x OS, i7 930, 6GB RAM, Nvidia 9800GT

Our developers are analyzing the source code to see why this only happens while transcoding's preview procedure.
As a temporarily solution, in the new version 1.3.2, we add a new option to disable the preview while transcoding.

In the meantime, we will keep on studying the prolem.
We will keep you posted about the progress.

Please feel free to send us your further advice and suggestion.
Thank you very much.

try 263.06 http://developer.nvidia.com/object/cuda ... loads.html
it works perfect (also with 1.3.1)

Hi,

The mod to Smart.Cutter (1.3.2) to add a setting to switch preview off in Options still doesn't fix the problem with the release NVidia driver 260.99

I noticed Sunnyfarm has successfully tried the beta developer Nvidia driver 263.06.

I'll go back to 257.21 until either Smart.Cutter is amended or Nvidia releases the newer version.

Cheers

Another solution from Arthur:
Here's my tip and it did work for me.
1 - No offence with fame-ring.com but this program Smart Cutter is not really optimized with Windows 7 64-bit OS it seems to have a memory management problem. So here what I did that works. The shortcut created by the program - Right-click, Properties, go to Compatibility tab and check Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack3) and you don't have to check any other options and apply. - That's it!
2 - For users with anti-virus program problems - Right-click on Computers and Advance System Settings, under Advance tab and Performance click Settings, Data Execution Prevention tab then select Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select. Click Add and select the Smart-Cutter program and Apply then Ok. A restart of your computer is a must so it will take effect the DEP instruction.

And a similar approach from Flemming:
I did found a solution there will work with both 1.3.1 and 1.3.2...
Just run the program in compability mode and set it to Windows XP SP3
Problem solved even with preview enabled...

Please feel free to send us your further advice and suggestion.
Thank you very much.

I just tried Gigabyte's 263.00 driver (WHQL certified) on my Win7 x64 edition and smart cutter 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 (even with disabled preview) crashed. nvidia 258.96 works with all versions.

Thanks

The option of runing Smart Cutter (in Windows 7) in compatibility mode for XP (SP3) has worked a trick for me

[Smartcutter 1.3.2 / Nvidia 465GTX / Driver 260.99 / Windows 7]

Cheers
