No 5.1 Surround?

Hi!
I attempted to chop ads off a recording I have with 5.1 channel Dolby audio.

Once trimming was done, the output was only 2 channel audio.

Is this normal?

Dear Cantisque:
Thanks for your concern.
5.1 channel Dolby audio.
Once trimming was done, the output was only 2 channel audio.
It should not be!

Could you please send us video samples for a test?

It would be better if the sample file size is less than 100 MB.

If you can not find small sample, use this simple tool to split your movie file
http://www.softpedia.com/get/PORTABLE-S ... rger.shtml
then you can upload samples to our ftp server

FTP server for uploading samples

FTP server for samples
before uploading samples, please create sub-directory with your name under the root, then upload samples to this sub-directory.

FULL priviliged --- mkdir, read, write, remove
Will be helpful to limit the size of each sample under 100MB.
Thank you.

Uploading a sample now, should be done in about 30mins.

The sample has 5.1 channel audio. Once trimmed, it only has 2.

Edit again:

The commercials before the video are 2 channel audio. For some reason, you have to let the movie itself get a few hundred milliseconds in before setting the start point.

Dear Cantisque:
Thanks for your posting.

Yes it is. The real program is 6 ch, but the ad is 2 ch.
We did a cut for the program, and it shows in MediaInfo as 6ch correctly.
Please check it on your end

Actually if you set the start and end points in the real program section, you will surely get a correct 6ch movie result.

Please feel free to send us your further advice and suggestion.
Looking forward to your further message.
Thank you very much.
