video files with wrong length (1.4.3)

Post by bumper2007 »

hi admin, support team,

found an minor issue when using 'add list' and 'Record List!' functions, what i have done:
1. open a video file (MP4), cut 2 sessions and added to the list
2. click 'Record List', the files generated but the video length are incorrect.

e.g. Playing the 1st session file, it is 1min 20s in length, the 2nd one is 1min 30s. When checking them with Windows Explorer, detailed view, the Length column indicates both files as 2min 50s (the sum of 2 sessions).

thanks for your attention.

Dear bumper2007:
Thanks for your message.

Please help us to show and identify the problem.
What is the OS you are using? Is it Xp, Vista or Win7?

Could you please send us a video sample for a test?
It would be better if the sample file size is less than 100 MB.

-------------------------------------
before uploading sample, please create sub-directory with your name under the root, then upload sample to this sub-directory.

FULL priviliged --- mkdir, read, write, remove
Will be helpful to limit the sample file size under 100MB.
Thank you.

my OS is Win7 Home premium, using Total Media Extreme 2 (TME2), Hauppauage HDPVR box.

What i have done:
- capture the video as mp4, using Smartcutter 1.4.3 to open the file and cut 2 sessions by "Add List", and generate the 2 mp4 with "Record List!" button

uploaded 3 files to /bumper2007:
- sample_original_TME2.mp4 -- the original clip captured through TME2, at 1.0Mbps, 720x480
- sample_session1.mp4 -- the 1st session cut, ~40s duration
- sample_session2.mp4 -- the 2nd session cut, ~1:10s duration
but when you check the 'length' column in windows explorer for the 2 sessions, they are both 1:52s

thanks for your kind attention.

hi admin, does 1.4.5 fix the issue? seems not as I have just tried
but when i checked the "What's new", it said "fix for win 7 ts duration property". does this new change relevant to this issue? Thanks.

Dear bumper2007:
Thanks for your message.

'fix for win 7 ts duration property ... does this new change relevant to this issue?'
Not yet. The 1.4.5 fix is built for Transport Stream files, not for MP4 files.
We are still investigating the MP4 issue.

Please feel free to send us your further advice and suggestion.
Thank you very much.
