V1.3.5 Win 7 compability issue

I am a Licensed user.
running windows 7 pro 64 bit and Smartcutter Portable 1.3.5

While trying to link / convert 5 VOBS, winodws reports that the program is no longer responding and (regardless of how you answer the question (terminate PGM, wait, or the X on the question box) it terminates the program.
SO, I ran the compatability wizard (via properties) and it says that WINDOWS XP (SP2) is the correct fix.
THIS DOES CURE THE PROBLEM OF Smartcutter Portable being unresponsive or ending unexpectedly.

Do you have eventually a nvidia Graphik-card with a 260 driver? This was my problem. Upgrading to the current driver 266 solved this problem for me.

Using two NVIDIA 8800 GTX cards with version 260.99 drivers.
Loaded new driver version 266.58 and removed the compatibility settings from Smartcutter.
tested it and the problem has gone away.
