merging results in mpg, is that normal?

I have cut out the commercials of a recorded .TS file with smart cutter and merged the parts ("record list" and "link" checked).
The result was a playable file wihout commercials. That 's fine, but the result is a .mpg file...
Why a .mpg and not a .TS file?
When I cut out only the start and the end of a .TS file and then use the red button, it gives me back a .TS file...
Why is it different when you edit multiple files?
Am I doing something wrong?
Who can help me?

Thanks for your concern.

The result is actually a .ts file, although it has an extension .mpg instead. This is a minor bug which we will fix in the coming version.

In the mean time, please try this, after click 'Record List', you will be asked for an output file name, now give it a file name with .ts as the extension, such as 'output.ts', see whether this helps.
