They are still out of sync when in separate segments. This time though ALL segments are out of sync, rather then just a couple. As I say, perfect when played outside of Nero Vision, but once it is imported the sync errors happen. Could it be due to the PTS re-calc that Smart Cutter does, and Nero is reading it wrongly for some reason ?

The Smart Cutter does re-calc the pts of video/audio, but since the output can be playbacked correctly, the pts should be correct still. We do not know why Nero Vision does not read in the pts correctly, but we are checking the Nero Vision to see whether there is an option for audio pts processing.

Thanks for looking in to it. I recently found that the same happens with 2 other similar cutters as well. So it must be a way in which Nero reads the joins. I found that nero treats each segment as a separate file even when joined. So, for instance, if I cut out 4 advert breaks in a show then join in to one file with Smart Cutter (or other similar apps) then opening them in Nero Vision it shows all segments as a separate file, instead of the 1 single file, so it somehow manages to know it has been cut and where it has been cut. Sadly though, even de-clicking Link the segments end up out of sync. But I have no idea how or why they seem perfectly in-sync in players. The fault must lie with Nero, but I wish I could fix it. I could try asking Nero I guess, but not sure if they will listen.

I get the same error when trying to join two M2TS files: A Windows crash with the blue screen displaying bad_pool_caller, STOP: 0x000000C2 (0x00000007, 0x00000CD4, 0xE359D008). I am using Windows XP Pro on a Lenovo Thinkpad R61 laptop. This is a really bad error as it requires power off and restart.

The media info is:

Dear carlrossen:
Thanks for your concern and detailed information.
A Windows crash with the blue screen displaying bad_pool_caller
Could you please tell us that in which step of the processing does this happen?
Windows XP Pro ... Lenovo Thinkpad R61 laptop
Could you tell us the cpu type of this computer?

Finally, could you please send us a small sample (larger than 3MB) for a test? So we can decide the reason of the problem.
Our email address

This happens during Record List. My processor is an Intel Core Duo T8100.
The second file can be obtained at http://www.sendspace.com/file/cr48oe.
I will e-mail the first file.

More info: I tried to cut and join pieces from a VOB file and the same error occurred. So, the problem is probably not related to the M2TS files. Parameter 1 of 0x07 indicates that "The current thread attempted to free pool which was already freed" (see http://www.osronline.com/ddkx/ddtools/bccodes_8k9z.htm). Investigating the Minidump with BlueScreenView reveals that the error occurs in the Multi-user driver Win32k.sys. I have checked this file and it is not corrupted. The version is 5.1.2600.3614 (xpsp_sp2_qfe.090814-1313).

I only get this error with Smart Cutter, so I am pretty sure it is a bug in your software that is causing it. Can you fix it?
