Edits points upset decoders

After some care was able to get a crash free session and created an output video, on playback observed the following:

When using the CoreAVC codec V 1.9.5, near each edit point the screen goes black for a few frames (the FAME watermark is visible before the black frames).

When using the MainConcept codec V 7.2.0.15295 the video doesn't go black but "stutters" or "freezes", ie displays the same frame for more than once.

If I load the file back into Smart cutter and advance frame by frame I don't see anything unexpected but when using "Play" there are random white flashes in the main editor display and black flashes in Full screen. (Note that my CPU cannot render the video fast enough to keep up with the Audio in Smart cutter so this is moot).
