What is the Fastest Rendering Movie Editor for H.264 AVCHD MPEG2 without re-encoding?
In our opinion the best Frame Accurate and Fastest Rendering Movie Editor for H.264 AVCHD MPEG2 we have tested is the Smart Cutter. It is:
Fastest Rendering Movie Editor for H.264 AVCHD MPEG2 without re-encoding...
If you are getting heavily into video editing and production, you may have quickly learned that the rendering by the re-encoding process of a video file is extremely taxing, which of course means ... IT TAKES FOREVER!
Smart Rendering means only re-encode the area around the cut points, middle part remains untouched, this will reserve original video quality while gaining highest rendering speed.
"smart rendering" isn't actually rendering but rather the ability of an editor to recognize parts of a video segment that need to be actually re-encoded at the frame level and parts of a video segment that can be simply copied.
Obviously copying/pasting something is a lot faster than actual encoding.

In more detail, unedited video frames are passed through without recompression, this process is referred to as a smart rendering. In order to perform smart rendering, the width, height, frame rate, field order, profile, level must match.
Smart Rendering means the program only touches the areas that you touched in the editing process. For example, if you trimmed a bunch of the clips, it would need to render around the part you clipped to make sure the structure is correct.
With the smart rendering of FameRing technology to ensure minimum video re-encoding, the export of one hour TV show will take only a few minutes, since most of the video content will be copied from the original recording into the new file without modification.
This the main feature of our Smart Cutter, it will Edit videos captured by DV Cam and HD PVR with smart rendering.
Fastest Rendering Movie Editor for H.264 AVCHD MPEG2 without re-encoding...
From a technical perspective:
Smart Rendering has 2 major advantages:
1. Better render quality - highest quality possible based for the given video!
2. Faster render - fastest rendering possible
Those advantages are achieved because smart encoding does not re-compress video that is already compressed with the output format. For example, if you edit H.264 AVCHD MPEG2 encoded video, and you want to output it as H.264 AVCHD MPEG2 (for example to M2TS TS), and just make cuts to the video, there shouldn't be (almost) any compression to the video... Since H.264 AVCHD MPEG2 is lossy, any re-encoding to H.264 AVCHD MPEG2 will reduce the quality of the video. No compression will not change the quality and thus will give the best quality possible: the original video quality!
And when no compression is needed, rendering can be done VERY fast: just copy the video segment data to the output!
If your edit cuts the video in the middle of a GOP (Group Of Pictures: something about 33 frames), you would need just to re-encode that GOP to be shorter.
